The visit of Olivier Dezutter to the University of São Paulo (USP), in collaboration with USF and UNESP, aims to deepen the research into the development of skills in academic literacy, discussing the role of textual genres and digital tools within this framework, and promote reflection on the teacher development to work in this context. The work plan to be developed in the period between 27/08 and 7/09, 2014, is devoted to discussing and exchanging research and involves exposure/discussion of projects of senior and junior researchers, Research Meeting with students and professors of the Graduate Program in French Studies, meetings for discussion of the joint project - submitted to the Ministry of Quebec, a conference for exhibiting results of scientific work focused on academic literacy in PML and FSL, a workshop for training of students of the Graduate Program and future researchers. Thus, its main axes are: - Discussion of the theoretical principles and practical experience developed by the University of Sherbrooke team. - The discussion of Brazilian initiatives for academic literacy, embodied in the actions of the Academic Literacy Lab-USP ( - The preparation and establishment of procedures, methods and tools for data collection for the Brazilian context. - Discussion and reflection on the different textual genres that permeate the academic sphere, emphasizing the interfaces between different languages, through the study of textual features of academic genres in Portuguese and French. - The discussion on academic literacy in the digital environment, highlighting the different digital tools that can be used in the virtual learning environment. - The consideration of new hypotheses about the training, especially for teachers who need to work with the academic literacy LE and LM with the aid of digital tools. These activities involve researchers, professors, doctoral and masters students of the three graduate programs: - Graduate Program in ELLTF, USP; Graduate Program in Education at USF; - Graduate Program in Linguistics and Portuguese Language at UNESP. The activities will include: - Conducting the conference Soutenir le développement de la compétence d'écriture en langue seconde à l'heure or étrangère du web 2.0, at the University of São Paulo. - Participation of Prof.. Dr. Olivier Dezutter in discussions of ongoing research at the Graduate Program ELLTF. The Professor will attend the meeting of research that gather annually graduate students to discuss their research on 28 and 08.29.2014. - In that same meeting, the teacher will be invited to present a workshop Un programme de recherche sur le développement de la compétence d'écriture en langue seconde or étrangère: conceptuelles orientations, méthodologiques et principaux résultats, for the training of Graduate students. - Participation of Prof. Olivier Dezutter in meetings with teachers and students involved in the project Le développement des compétences en littéracie académique, une clé de la universitaire réussite (The development of skills in academic literacy: a key college success) submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Francophonie and Foreign Trade of Québec, Canada. - Participation of Prof. Olivier Dezutter in meetings with teachers involved with a view to preparing a thematic project to be submitted to FAPESP about the development of skills in academic literacy, discussing the role of textual genres and digital tools within that framework, in addition to promoting a reflection on the development of teachers to work in this context. - Final meeting to discuss affinities/peculiarities of the research relationship.
