Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the representations of young men and women of two countries (Brazil and Spain), in their narratives about love and how they faced and experienced the daily conflicts involving this feeling. Will be a total of 200 young people divided into two groups of 100 (100 Brazilians and 100 Spaniards) between 18 and 24 years of university goers that are distributed internally each of the following as the affective-sexual orientation and gender/sex: 50 heterosexuals (25 men and 25 women), 25 gay (men), 25 lesbians (women). A questionnaire with open and closed questions answered in writing, in order to identify general characteristics of the groups and perform narrative interviews with 24 of these participants (12 in each country, spread over three per group of the affective-sexual orientation and gender/sex will be applied) that asks participants to experienced loving conflicts are narrated or have knowledge. The analysis will be guided by the definition of organizing model, emphasizing its components: the elements abstracted and retained as significant, the meanings attributed to the elements and the implications and/or relationships between elements and meanings. Still will establish relations between different countries and, in turn, between groups of affective-sexual orientation (heterosexual, gay and lesbian) category and gender/sex (men and women). Thus, work on a qualitative aspect, in which the units of analysis and grouping of responses emerge and are not preconditions, and quantitative (frequency) of several models on situations of conflict and its attendant loving meanings about love.
