Evaluation of a multidisciplinary course specialization in Family Health in distance mode


Due to current needs of health education and the possibilities of meeting this gap through the Continuing Education in Distance Learning, the Ministry of Health established the Open University of the National Health Service, in search of fulfilling guidelines and principles of the Unified Health System. Among the several courses offered, the Family Health Specializations, which are partnerships with high standing public universities, are given priority. Objective: Evaluation of a Multiprofessional Specialization course on Family Health in Distance Learning, considering its advances, challenges and proposals. Methodology: This is a case study research which considers the Family Health Specialization course in distance learning, a phenomenon for professionals working in primary care in cities within the scope of DRS-IX from the perspective of graduates. It will be developed in two stages, where the first one is based on semi-structured interviews and the analysis will be toward the assumptions of dialectical hermeneutics framework which is in the interpretative perspective of qualitative methodologies. In the second stage, a quantitative tool (questionnaire) will be drawn from interview data, and it will be applied to all graduates, then the data will be analyzed by using descriptive and analytical statistics. Expected results: Data may clarify strengths and weaknesses and support new directions. (AU)
