Samuel Beckett Working Group (USP/CNPq), created at 2011, gathers researchers studying literature, drama, philosophy, linguistics and psychology from many different universities (USP, Unifesp, Unicamp, UFSC, UFPB, UFBA) dedicated to Beckettian prose and drama. By inviting Stanley Gontarski, a leading scholar in Beckett, as well as in performance studies, as a visiting researcher at USP next August (from 08/05 to 08/20), SBWG has in mind an agenda concerning the following topics: a) Meetings in order to discuss the individual researches conducted by the graduate students belonging to the Group, dealing with different aspects and interests in Beckett's work, many of them supported financially by Fapesp (Master dissertations, Ph. D. Thesis and post-doctoral works). NAPEDRA (Núcleo de Antropologia, Performance e Drama, FFLCH/USP), dedicated to the study of the boundary-zone between ritual and drama, joins in SBWG's initiative with similar concerns; b) Open conferences aimed at a larger public (undergraduate literature and drama students, mainly) offered both at FFLCH/USP and IEL/Unicamp; c) A participation in a condensed graduate course, "Prose, drama and performance in Samuel Beckett's late work" at the Graduate Studies Program in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, at USP; d) Meetings with the docent staff of the Graduate Studies Program in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, at USP, in order to discuss ways to develop eventual academic interchange between USP and Florida State University.
