Brazil has the largest commercial cattle herd in the world basically composed by zebu, and the Brahman breed cutting the fastest growing in recent years. One way to help achieve greater genetic gain in population of Brazilian Brahman is by population analysis using pedigree information assessing, mainly, the genetic variability. In this work will be used pedigree data belonging to the Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders (ABCZ) arrays Brahman from various regions of Brazil. The pedigree will be analyzed in three ways: considering all the pedigree; dividing the pedigree into two periods according to the level of inbreeding; and dividing the pedigree according to breeding condition of the animals, pasture and stabled. The coefficient of inbreeding, generation interval, equivalent number of known generations and the results of the parameters based on the probability of gene origin will estimated using R and Pedig softwares.
