Abstract

This project aiming at technological innovation in the production of oral health care. It assumes that the current care model reproduces uncritically the parameters of the private practice of dentistry and the dental remains in isolation from the whole health practices in the public health in Brazil. The model of care, and especially the assistance, ie, oral patient care, is deemed inappropriate, low coverage and scarce supply of care. Therefore it is considered obsolete, which is consistently discussed and demonstrated in the literature. Can be characterized from the following: difficulties to overcome in the model of care traditionally focused and prioritizing population groups such as students, preschoolers and babies; little progress in planning practices, emphasizing disabilities capacity of government health oral teams, the increased supply of dental care has not been accompanied by increasing use, revealing access barriers that may be in the form of organization of clinical practice; lack of intersectoral actions, which is not only a question of public health dentistry. Its main objective tapping into the possibilities of expanded clinical oral health in primary care, from the perspective of completeness and specific objectives to propose new technologies for oral health care in Primary Care; understand space as the locus of clinical teaching; investigate ways is socially constructed demand for oral health services and oral health needs in the perspective of the subject-patient, and also analyze the model of oral health care in the SUS, with reference to the Guidelines for the National Oral Health Policy. The concept of buccality enough to warrant theoretical purposes. How multicenter study, the research will be developed in four distinct fields, namely: health units in São Paulo, Campinas and Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo, and in units of Recife, Pernambuco. Express the following operational goals: 1) To propose, develop and evaluate new technologies for oral health care, 2) Deepen understanding of the work process in oral health, and 3) analyze the relationship between the patient and the dental health team (offering services and health needs of the patient), 4) Produce instructional material; 5) Disclose the scientific production; 6) Strengthen the relationship between the teams in different territories. The study will be conducted in three phases: the first consists of participant observation, is the second phase of intervention research, while the third phase will be characterized as monitoring and evaluation throughout the project. The first two phases will have field supervision will be done by researchers associated with the project, on the spot, and at the regular meetings of the team. The first phase will develop in the intervention and preliminary consist of a participant observation study of the UBS / ESF as the overall research strategy to enable understanding and grasping the reality of health of users at clinical level of generality. The second phase of fieldwork will take place as intervention research in experimental clinical activity expanded oral health or dental, dentistry, health units or ESB. This experimental activity will necessarily be integrated and shared with the staff of oral health unit. The third phase, monitoring and evaluation, provides epidemiological studies and cases, aiming at systematization of information of various types, using different approaches and qualitative methods such as action research, intervention research, ethnomethodology, using multiple strategies / techniques such as observation (total participant), interviews, focus groups, diaries and other methods of population surveys.
