Concepts of professional education and parents about sexuality and sexual education: development, implementation and evaluation of interventional courses geared for parents, teachers and students

Abstract

Identify the concepts of staff of the municipal education, team manager of schools, head teachers and educational assistants teaching (ESL), as well as teachers and parents about sexuality and sex education verifying the key needs and concerns that have concerning such topics. The order is from this design, implement and evaluate interventional courses in sexuality, that will occur in two stages: the first will be implemented a course directed to the above staff, management team, teachers and ESL coordinators, and in the second stage, a course facing teachers and one for parents. In addition, teachers will be accompanied and assisted by the researcher and the management team in the preparation and implementation of a sex education program directed at students. Regarding methodology, this consists of a quantitative and qualitative research. Participants will be school teachers of kindergarten and elementary school 1st year, 5 years and 8 years in the city of Araraquara, as well as the parents. This study will be performed at the public schools in kindergarten and elementary school located in the central and peripheral, and its realization will take place contact the Secretary of Education of that city, and with the endorsement of this, managers will be contacted and informed the objectives of this research. With the concurrence of them will be scheduled a meeting with the teams of the municipal education, one with teachers and with other parents / caregivers of students in order to expose the aims of the present study. Those who agree to participate in this study will receive the questionnaires to be filled. Regarding data collection, the closed questions of the questionnaire will be statistically analyzed and the open will be analyzed and grouped into categories for analysis. Thus, from the speech of education professionals and parents aims to analyze the contributions of a course or not intervening, outlining from this listening aspects that need to be reviewed and improved in this course in order to provide the opportunity for proper preparation. Furthermore, from the course teachers will develop and implement sex education targeted at students, you can actually see if the aspects dealt with the same instrumentalized for work of this nature. Summarizing, it is intended for this study produce scientific papers to be published in specialized periods pointing among others: the views of parents / carers, teachers and management teams on the approach to sexuality and sexual education, in addition, the difficulties and training needs, the process of design, implementation and evaluation of this course, the strategies that were employed by teachers in the development and implementation of a course intended for students, and finally, studies that reveal the reality of this intervention process on sexuality in the school context (AU)
