Use of lean production tools and methods in agrobusiness companies in the region of Tupã, State of São Paulo

Abstract

The management of production systems based on Lean Production System, which focuses on the progressive elimination and minimization of waste, has been recognized in recent decades by industries as a model of efficiency and competitiveness. With that came the need to establish criteria for assessing the appropriateness of a company in this system. This need for constant improvement didn't looks different when looking at agribusiness Tupa region, which stands out for its economic and social importance. In this context, this research project has as main objective to carry out an assessment of the adherence degree to Lean Production system of agro-industries in the region of Tupa. For realization of this project is adopted as the research method, conducting primarily a literature search on the key concepts of this system and evaluation tools employed with companies, such as the SAE J4000 series rules. The SAE J4000 Standards are one of the mechanisms for assessing the degree of adherence to an organization's Lean Production System, one of the most widespread methods in the literature is to perform analysis. Data collection will occur from case studies of multiple types, which will be compiled, tabulated and analyzed. The expected results of this research project are the diagnostic stage of adherence to Lean Production system companies in the region of Tupa, as well as identification of the elements assessed in need of improvement, and that will enable the opening and propose new research along the same. Finally, wait to your termination, preparation of articles for conferences and journals to present the results of the project, as well as proposals for new research. (AU)
