Light-cone phenomenology of generalized parton distribution functions

Abstract

The project aims to boost the collaboration between São Paulo state institutions, Univ. Cruzeiro do Sul and Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica with North-Carolina State University, in addition to the FAPESP research grant 2012/17396-1. Our common research problem is the theoretical investigation of hadron generalised parton distributions (GPDs), with (i) light front wave functions anzatzes, (ii) models of the hadron Bethe-Salpeter amplitude based in the Nakanishi representation, and (iii) Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes from OCO self-consistent approaches or lattice. The problem will be formulated considering the handbag diagram in the limit of a hard quark propagation between the momentum absorption and emission. In addition, we intend to consider the light-front projection of the handbag diagram to relate the covariant formulation with the light-front one, where higher Fock components of the wave function are expected to be essential in certain kinematical domains. The different tensor structures of the GPDs will be addressed and the associated spin asymmetries. (AU)
