Abstract

In this project, Sao Paulo and Ohio State researchers will work together to develop an end-to-end networking infrastructure to provide advanced, high-speed communication services for online, data intensive collaborative work. The goal is to pave the road for bleeding edge remote collaboration between Ohio State University and Sao Paulo campuses. Both Sao Paulo and Ohio have been awarded and are currently developing Science DMZ Network projects, based on the same core principais and architectural decisions developed by the US Department of Energy (DOE), which manages and enhances performance of data intensive traffic at the last mile connecting the network to strategic campus labs and facilities. The technology is based on traffic segregation and specific infrastructure, service and policies to enhance traffic performance. The application used to validate the international infrastructure between Sao Paulo and Ohio will be a Peer-to-Peer IPTV System, funded by FAPESP. This application will be used to validate the international network infrastructure between the two states. Furthermore, it also has the advantage of providing a collaboration environment for exchange research content between Sao Paulo and OSU, which will enable the exchange between researchers of ali disciplines in both countries. In the long run, this project will facilitate the deployment of multiple reusable advanced network services. (AU)
