Evaluation of the dental arch in children with cleft lip and palate by means 3D digital models

Abstract

The working plan of the visit aims to study and discuss a rehabilitation protocol for cleft lip and palate patients. The research line developed by Professor Wanda Gnoinski, PhD, in the University of Zurich, has investigations directed to the craniofacial growth of cleft lip and palate patients, with one of the main studies on newborns through passive plates. The association of the two rehabilitation centers for cleft lip and palate patients will provide a wealth of information and knowledge. During the visit, the rehabilitation protocol of both centers will be discussed as well as the results expected in the rehabilitation. Professor Gnoinski will visit and see the clinical treatment of the patients. Following, by using the documentation protocol of the Hospital of Rehabilitation for Craniofacial Anomalies/USP, it will be executed the scanning and study of the digital casts of the cleft lip and palate children at early childhood. Also, she will give lectures for the undergraduate students of Bauru School of Dentistry/USP, postgraduate students and staff of the Hospital of Rehabilitation for Craniofacial Anomalies/USP. (AU)
