Abstract

Chronic inflammatory pathologies represent an important cause of disabilities and removal of the work in the modern society. Diseases as tendinitis, osteoarthritis and arthritis are responsible for costs of million of dollars with medication and hospitalization, out of the costs of treatments of the adverse effects provoked by the chronic use of anti-inflammatory drugs like NSAIDs and steroids. In this context its quite necessary the search for new drugs and new therapeutic targets for the treatment of these pathologies, representing a smaller impact for the health system and for the modern society. In this project we investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of two therapies, using inhaled nitric oxide and low power laser therapy for the treatment of the experimental tendinitis in rats. (AU)
