Biocatalysis: the use of plant cells and lipases in organic synthesis - application on asymmetric synthesis of biologically active compounds

Abstract

This proposal aims to initiate a research group in Organic Synthesis and Biocatalysis at Centro de Ciências Naturais e Humanas of ABC Federal University. The research field is focused on application of enantiomerically pure compounds obtained from biocatalytic methods in organic synthesis of biologically active compounds. The biocatalytic methods to be applied include the use of vegetables in different substrates and the use of lipases in enzymatic resolution of alcohols and amines.
