Effects of different sources of Saccharomyces cerevisiae at excretion of aflatoxin M1 in milk of dairy cows fed contaminated diets with aflatoxin B1

Abstract

The project aims to evaluate the effect of adding biomass of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (SC) produced by alcoholic fermentation in diets on the performance of dairy cows contaminated with AFB1. The residues of the fermentation containing SC will be obtained in two plants of ethanol production and brewery, located in Araras and Pirassununga / SP. There will be a preliminary in vitro assay for assessing the ability of removal of AFB1 by different sources of SC in phosphate buffered saline at 25°C. The experiment will be conducted in vivo using 30 multiparous dairy cows. Cows will be randomly assigned to 5 x 2 factorial arrangement, corresponding to two levels (0 and 200 m g / kg) of incorporation of AFB1 to feed and two levels (0 and 2 x 1010 SC cells for each 5.0 mg of AFB1) of incorporating biomass dry yeast (inactivated and dried yeast of sugar cane, autolyzed yeast, yeast cell wall and partially dehydrated brewer residue). The study will be conducted on the dairy production unit of USP Campus in Pirassununga. Will be evaluated daily production, milk composition (determination and quantification of AFM1 and concentrations of fat and protein), and productivity of animals. At 1°, 5° and 10° days of the experiment, blood samples will be collected for determination of total protein and enzyme dosage of aspartate aminotransferase (AST). The results of the experiment will be submitted to analysis of variance, using for comparison between means, where applicable, the LSD test (Least Significant Difference) Fisher, adopting ± = 0.05.
