Energetic and environmental briquettes optimization of municipal solid waste and Eucaliptos

Abstract

This work aims the energetic and environmental optimization of briquetes made of municipal solid waste rejects and Eucalyptus grandis wood, as raw material for briquetes production. The utilised material will be MSWR (municipal solid waste rejects)and Eucalyptus sawdust blended with biding agents from cassava and black liquor, aiming to increase the calorific value of the samples. The samples of MWSR will be collected in Lencois Paulista Sorting Facility, which as currently discarded at the landfill, and the wood residues from Botucatu saw mills. This study has the objective of minimize the material send to landfills, resulting in environmental and social benefits. The briquetes will be made with 0, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 % of MSWR into the wood residues. The results will be evaluated by Gross and Net Heat Value. The compression processes will be carried on with the material containing 12% of moisture. For the environmental evaluation, tjhe briquetes will be analised under GC with Mass Detector, to identify the products formed during its thermal decomposition and evaluate preliminarly the hazardous effects toward the environment. Therefore, the objetive will be energetic and environmental optimization for briquetes production. In this way will be excluded some MSWR components considered pollutants as well as used residues from cassava and black liquor. (AU)
