Urbanization and financial phenomenon in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo in the period of globalization

Abstract

This project aims to understand the indissoluble relationship between the processes of urbanization and financial phenomenon in the Province of Buenos Aires and São Paulo (with emphasis on analysis of the cities of Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo), emphasizing the reorganization of the circuits of the urban economy (and their forms) and their integration into the urban network in the period of globalization. The research also seeks to understand the evolution of 'banking' and 'financial regionalism' within the selected areas of study, with emphasis on the complementary and contradictory process of economic concentration in the cities of Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo and the expansion of banking and financial topologies that extend their network, the financial densities and indebtedness. We also intend to interpret the dynamics of the upper circuit in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo and its regulatory role on the financial system that expands the urban networks and modifies the form and places of integration of the circuits of the urban economy.
