Discussion of results of a project about the influence of raw material particle size and extrusion process on resistant starch formation and metabolic responses of dogs; presentation of a graduation discipline; elaboration of research plan in collaboration


Dr. Sajid was invited to visit the Faculdade de Ciencias Agrárias e Veterinarias da UNESP, campus de Jaboticabal, to participate as collaborator in discussions of the results of two Master Sciences funded by FAPESP (2011/05046-3 "Effect of extrusion on inactivation of anti-nutritional factors of raw soybean for cats" and 2011/16834-2 "Influence of raw material particle size and extruder configuration on resistant starch content, digestibility, fermentation products formation and metabolic responses of dogs fed kibble diets"). Furthermore, he will teach a graduation discipline for students of the Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science graduation courses. A third objective is to discuss protocols for collaboration and how to improve the protocol of data collection in studies about extrusion of food for animals. (AU)
