With the growing expansion of the broiler meat market, and increased demand for meat quality, consumers expect it to be derived from healthy animals, slaughtered and processed hygienically, being rich in nutrients for feeding. Since the prohibition of antibiotics as growth promoter, other additives are being studied, among them, the organic acids. These acids are rarely described in the literature in broiler chickens, especially when used isolated, because its use is usually done through blends, obtained from a mixture of acids. The trial will consist in two experiments in which the first will be evaluated four types of diets supplemented with organic acids (citric acid and benzoic acid) on growth performance of animals, organ weights, length of the small and large intestines and intestinal contents pH. The second experiment, in order to address the performance at different levels of inclusion, organic acid or mixture of acids that shows higher rates in the first experiment on the same parameters evaluated and also the development of the microbiota in the GI tract of poultry. For the first experiment, 840 birds will be distributed in a completely randomized factorial 2x2 (supplementation with citric acid or not and supplementation with sodium benzoate or not) with seven replications. The second experiment will use the same number of birds and the same experimental design of the first experiment, but will study four different levels of inclusion of organic acid or mixture of acids that show better results in the first experiment. Statistical analyzes of data obtained will be made using ANOVA and will be used the Tukey test (P <0.05). (AU)
