Abstract

The evolution of the adhesive ystems have provided improvement of the quality of the marginal sealing and the durability of the restorations. Some of them contain monomers solvents, initiators and also, fluoride, filler particles and antibacterial agents, which were little investigated. The objective of this study is to evaluate the bond strength and the antibacterial activity of three adhesive systems. For the dentin bond strength test, human teeth will be used. The bond strength test will performed after 1 week after specimen preparation and after one year of artificial saliva storage. For the antibacterial activity analysis, four strict anaerobic bacteria (Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, Fusobacterium nucleatum and Peptostreptococcus micros) and facultatively anaerobic bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Actinomyces naeslundii, Lactobacillus casei and Streptococcus mutans). The antibacterial activity analysis will include the inhibition halos, minimal inhibitory concentration and bactericidal minimum concentration, which will determined for all bacterial samples. (AU)
