Performance of different ventilation systems layers of chicken houses in the region of Bastos - SP


The ambience control in animal production has an influence on the performance of birds and is one of the main factors of production losses in tropical climates. Different ventilation systems are installed in animal housings in order to mitigate the effects of heat stress. The objective of this project is to assess the thermodynamic behavior of layers chicken houses with different climatization systems and determine which of the systems evaluated brings more benefits to the producer. This project will be conducted in commercial layer hens farm, located in the region of Bastos, SP. The main environmental variables will be collected for calculating the Index Globe Temperature and Humidity (BGT) and Radiant Thermal Load (CTR). Afterwards, it will be developed a geostatistical analysis to determine the spatial variation of the comfort index for comparison among poultry houses (ventilation systems) that were evaluated. Also a comparative analysis between the profitability of poultry farms assessed will be carried out. It is expected that the results of this research to identify which of the three ventilation systems is best suited for the region of Bastos, São Paulo, with regard to the thermal environment (homogeneity) and productivity of birds.
