Geometry in primary teacher training in times of Escolanovismo (1930-1950)

Abstract

The research aims to investigate how the teaching of geometry in primary teacher training. The aim is to analyze how is the process of elementarization geometry with the arrival of the New School and how this issue is addressed in different configurations of primary school teachers at the time. As the movement of methodological nature (active method) converses with the basic concepts of geometry in primary school? Because these processes are included in teacher training? The proposed project will be developed under the GHEMAT and adopts as basic theoretical and methodological design of the story of Michel de Certeau (2002), an operation that tries so necessarily limited, understanding it as the relationship between a place procedures analysis and construction of a text. Different sources will be analyzed, such as decrees, reforms, educational programs, as well as those more related to pedagogical practices such as textbooks, tests, journal articles that discuss issues related to the practices of both the primary school students as future teachers of primary.
