Brussels: Peter Lang, the articles and authors in this book are devoted to the themes present in the wide field of diversity in early childhood education as part of a movement that has been called, pedagogical European renewal for early childhood. Among the central concepts that he has focused include: cultural identity, plural identity, cultural belonging and socio-political context, the emergence of prejudice in early childhood, structural aspects such as accessibility in early childhood education. Such themes, also present in Brazil, will contribute to our researches which are being held under the key of difference, race, ethnicity and gender can make contributions and theoretical insights from what is being produced in the polls that he develops with a teacher Mexican Ileana Seda, and teachers from Europe and Asia. Moreover, the Professor proposes to discuss teaching practices and how they are put into practice in several European countries (among others, Belgium, France, Germany and England). In the practices that will be presented, the emphasis will be among others: accessibility policy, diversification of practices, collaboration with families of diverse backgrounds, multilingualism etc. It is hoped the visit: - Deepen the relationship between Brazilian researchers and Ghent University's; - Establish a network in which the Brazilian universities are part of the debate and pedagogical renewal in early childhood education; - Assist the researches that has been done on race, in seeking to determine how and when racism appears in small children, the object of their research; - Contribute to the debate about early childhood education practices; - Attend seminars to discuss the masters and PhD research projects of the Brazilian students. - Contribute to the project: Education and Sociology of Childhood in Brazil: a genealogy under construction - proc.
