Abstract
The objective of Prof. Sawado visit to IFSC/USP is to develop research in collaboration with the group of Prof. Ferreira on soliton solutions, especially vortices, of the so-called Extended Skyrme-Faddeev model, which has been conjectured to correspond to a low energy effective theory to pure SU(2) Yang-Mills theory. The project is a continuation of the collaboration initiated in 2008 between Profs. Sawado and Ferreira, and that has produced already three published papers. The results of the project are important in the development of non perturbative methods in 3+1 dimensional field theories, especially gauge theories. Prof. Sawado will be giving talks at IFSC/USP and other institutions in Sao Paulo State and Brazil. (AU)
