The visit of Professor Clive Thomson (University of Guelph, Canada) to PUC-SP, in collaboration with other Brazilian Universities, especially USP, aims at discussing the present state and the critical reception of Bakhtin and the Circle, within other Human Sciences. The collaboration of the Post-Graduation Programs of LAEL/PUC-SP, FLP/ DLCV/USP, ELLT/Francês-DLM/USP, Linguística UFSCar, e LLP/ UNESP is the consequence of the common interest that these Programs have in the dialogical theory of the Bakhtin Circle, its reception in the Occident, its relationship with Foucault and psychoanalysis, which are the main fields of research of Professor Clive Thomson.
