Abstract

This visit of Prof. Ledoux is continuation of activities of international cooperation started in 2008 (Proc. Fapesp 2008/04364-9)involving UNICAMP (Brazil), UNTREF (Argentina), Centro Nacional de la Musica - sede RICMA: Red de Investigación y Creación Musical of America (Chile), the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Dance de Paris (CNSMDP) and University of Lille 3 (France). This project with prof. Ledoux is directly linked to visits of Profs. Alexandros Markeas and Ricardo Mandolini July/2009, As well as the coming of Gretchen Amussen (CNSMDP), Alejandro Iglesias (UNTREF) and José Sosaya (Conserv. of Lima, Peru) to be here discussing contemporary composition with elements of Popular Music as well as perspectives and future developments to this program of activities involving Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and France. There are four applications sent to FAPESP linked to themselves, with benefit from funding already approved by the French government. The project-France called "Investigation, création et patrimoine musical en Amérique Latine", being coordinated by Gretchen Amussen, Sous-Directrice des Affaires Extérieures et de la Communication. This request involving Prof. Ledoux seeking also give continuity to the exchange of him with local researches, as well as narrow relations with the chair Analysis Musical CNSMDP with particular interest in methods, procedures and techniques for analyzing musical compared to our practice in Unicamp (IA/Depto of Music) as the deployment of the Thematic PROJECT FAPESP 03/01253-8 "COMPUTADOR COMO AMBIENTE DE CRIAÇÃO E PERFORMANCE MUSICAL", coord. Prof. Dr. Silvio Ferraz, from 03/2004 to 03/2008, which my participation (J. A. Mannis), and also the Profa. Dra. Denise Garcia. The approach of this proposal is covers axles methodological not studied in the previous visit: 1. Deepening in concepts of "Form" and "Structure" using musical, linguistic, psychological and etnomusicological criterias from actuality; 2. A definition of parametric categories questioned in the 1980s after investigations on sound material and the displacement of scales of observation; 3. The problem of the Complexity in relation to popular and erudite ideologies; 4. Concepts of "emerging" in contemporary composition, between tradition and modernity; 5. Interdisciplinarity and their conceptual application according to models proposed by the french sociologist and filosopher Edgard Morin. Approaches in practical analysis: a. The relationship between american popular music and erudite european works of Stefano Gervasoni (Godspell); b. Ideological displacement during application of popular music in erudite music; c. Between nature, theory of chaos and music Aksak (Sippal, Dobbal, Nadiheg or Concerti of Gyorgy Ligeti; d. Few cases of relationship between the religious or spiritual related to technology. (Stockhausen); e. From Pop-Rock music to erudite music (Fausto Romitelli); f. Spectrality from South America's popular traditions and contemporary music writing - the popular revisited by computer technology (3e quatuor à cordes « Las Lagrimas de un Angel » and Les Levants de Tihuanaco for orchestra by Claude Ledoux). This specific lighting on the relationship between these composers with music of other traditions will be the starting point to study composing strategies in connection with this situation and to develop appropriate methodologies to such investigations. The invited researcher requested this time arrive with 2 days prior to recover the jet lag and prepare the extensive material bringing with him. The activities will be carried out at Unicamp from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday rest to prepare the following week. First series: 06 to 10/Jul; Second series: 13 to 17/Jul.
