Abstract

After continuous collaboration with the Graduate Programs at the School of Medicine, University of São Paulo, Dr. Douglas Nixon, Professor at the Department of Experimental Medicine, University of California, San Francisco, must comply with activities such as Visiting Scientist in the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy. The activities should be developed in 2010, with support of the University of Sao Paulo. The activities will involve the areas of Graduate, Research and interaction with the Institute of Research in Immunology, which was recently approved for funding as a National Institutes of Science and Technology by CNPq, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jorge Kalil Filho. The activities of Dr. Douglas Nixon will be distributed in four annual visits of a month duration each and the cost of tickets will be financed by FAPESP as requested and the three other resources from the projects of Dr. Nixon. The dates are: Visit 1 - July 24 to August 20, 2010Visit 2 - October 15 to November 11, 2010 Visit 3 - February 5 to March 4, 2011Visit 4 - June 1 to June 30, 2011Professor. Nixon will assist in the implementation of three courses of graduate in the program of Allergy and Immunology: 1 - II Course of Writing Scientific Papers and Projects. 2- 19 August 20102 - II Course of HIV: Gender, Society and Science. 25 October-4 November 2010. 3 - VI Advanced Course in HIV Pathogenesis. 21-25 February 2011. Prof. Douglas Nixon will also attend the aforementioned course for the year 2010. The course schedule for the year 2010 is attached. http://patogenesehiv2010.iii.org.br/patogenesehiv2010/index.htmlIn the same month of February, Professor D. Nixon will provide assistance in the context of scientific exchange program for students (Students Exchange Program) that it keeps with the research group of Prof. Esper Kallas since 2002. 4 - Development of New Projects and Participation in series of Conferences "Frontiers of Medicine", June 2011.
