Hosting guest foreign researcher Dr. Rolf Zeisler National Institute of Standards and Technology Gaithersburg, MD, USA

Abstract

The aim of this project is the visit of Dr. Rolf Zeisler from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, Gaithersburg, MD, USA). The interaction with researchers and student from Brazilian universities and research center, such as Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC), Instituto de Química da Universidade de São Paulo (IQ/USP), Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura da USP (CENA/USP) and Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares (IPEN) will be grateful. As one of the project supported by FAPESP (Process number 2007/56504-6) is related to the reference material production, it is believed the interaction with a leader of metrology will be enhanced. Dr Zeisler will also participate on VIII Workshop about sample preparation (IQ/USP, São Paulo, 2010, May 04th to 7th) presenting two lectures related to "Sampling in the Arctic and elsewhere for environmental monitoring" and "Preparation of the new NIST Bovine Liver Standard Reference Material". After the workshop, he will present a lecture on mini-course about metrology with the lecture entitled "Efforts in establishing INAA as a primary method". (AU)
