Abstract

The Post-Graduate Program of Education in the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of the UNESP, Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, Brazil, is honored to invite, thru the Associate Professor PhD Maria Suzana S Menin (The petitioner, soliciting professor) and the Assistant Professor PhD Yoshie U. Ferrari Leite (coordinator of the Program), the Professor Mohamed Chaib, from the University of Jönköping, Sweden, to stay, as a Visiting Professor, in our University, in the period from October 15th to November 30th of the current year, 2006.During this period, Professor Mohamed will collaborate with our program in several teaching and research activities. In the scope of teaching, we invite the Professor Mohamed to be in charge of four seminars in the course of Special Topics: Social Representations and teacher Training: Comparative Analysis, coordinated by professor Maria Suzana S. Menin. Theses seminars will focus on themes that professor Mohamed researches on, such as: The theory of Social Representations as research tool from the Scandinavian perspective; use of Modern Technologies of Education in Sweden; Education and Handicap in Sweden and Adult Education and Lifelong Learning as an strategic instrument for the European Union. In the scope of research, we count on Professor Mohamed for the following activities: a) to carry out guidance meetings with the our students of the Post-Graduate course that are writing their Master’s thesis about Social Representations and/or New Technologies in Education. b) to participate in research meetings with the Brazilian sub-group of research on Social Representation and Teacher Training as the coordinator of the International Group Social Representations, Education and Professional Formation, in the UNESP and in the Fundação Carlos Chagas; c) to participate in the International Seminar on Social Representation and Professional Formation, that will take place in the Fundação Carlos Chagas São Paulo (November 22 to 24 th, 2006) and to coordinate the presentation of the works of the Swedish researchers that will be there. We count on the Fundação Carlos Chagas as a collaborating Institution in this project and its researchers: PhD Clarilza Prado de Souza; Angela Martins and Marialva Tavares. Were grateful, since now, for the great collaboration that his visit will represent; it will be an extremely meaningful event to us. (AU)
