The aim of this research is to analyse something not well-known in brazilian history of the XVIIIth and the beggining of the XIXth century: how the societies conceived the time as historical time. It will be focused in written sources by politicians, novelists, poets and historians. In a more specific way, it is our intention to understand the relations between the rithms of daily life and the real conditions of political action and political changes. The general project is based in a collective effort carried on by six students directed by one main scholar. His specific research focuses the lusoamerican literature of XVIIIth. century. (AU)
