Tangents of an imprefect garden

The book Tangents of an imprefect garden presents the results of the MA research firstly entitled "Errance and Idiorritmie - photographs", research I've finished by april 2011 inside the Program of Postgraduate Studies in Visual Poetics, at ECA-USP, with the support of FAPESP.The proposal of publishing was encouraged by the committee of judge, composed by Evandro Carlos Jardim and Luiz Armando Bagolin, as well as Joao Luiz Musa, the MA supervisor. Accordingly, FAPESP's statement to the final report - that presented just the photographic essay - was:"We emphasize the expression 'it becomes a quality reference', that synthesises the supervisor's appreciation on the final report presented by the student. We judge advisable to promote research work as these, in a moment of consolidation of such research lines directed to visual poetics and to artistic processes, included in art programs of MA and PhD studies. Our suggestion is that works like this one could be diffused to academic community (as a way to direct statements as this about similar projects), for example by publishing the work, according to what was suggested by the board."This statement received, me and my supervisor thought about to demand the support of FAPESP to complement the resources will be employed by Edusp, interested in the publishing of the work.As a general rule, Edusp refuses to publish works from MA researches. The interest in publishing in this case is based in its exceptionality, in terms of a ground-breaking photographic essay combined with a careful graphic print. The exemplars resulting from the research - available in ECA-USP library - were printed in Gardapat Kiara paper, with the most advanced technical attendance, processes that were studied during MA. This justifies the demand of budget complementation. The work will be printed with three inks, throughout a method developed by the MA supervisor, Joao Luiz Musa, with the printing technician Thiago Ceregatti at Imprensa Oficial graphic dependencies. These graphic concerns constitute a fundamental part of the publishing process, being this process understood as a continuity to visual research developed during MA studies. (AU)
