Synthesis and caracterization of selenophenes thiophenes copolymers

Abstract

Conducting polymers discovered in the late 70s of last century caused a revolution in building electronic device. Today theses materials have been studied to replace conventional materials in electronic devices. Among conducting polymers the polythiopheno family present advanced such as high absorption of light in the visible and ultraviolet region, crystallinity and stability environment. However, there is much to do in the fundamental research on the synthesis of polythiophene derivates aiming at technology applications. An alternative to increase the efficiency these devices is the synthesis of the thiophenes copolymers with copolymers, the selenophenes (new class of monomers). These monomers can increase the conjugation of the polymer as well as improve the efficiency of the electronic devices. In this work, it will be synthesized both selenophenes and thiophenes copolymers (statistical and blocks), which will be compared to the 3-alkyltthiophene and 3-alkylselenophene polymers. Moreover, it will be prepared films of these pure and tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ)-doped copolymers. These polymers will be characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, Hydrogen and Carbon nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR and 13C NMR). The electrical properties will be analyzed by DC measurements in temperature function and room temperature. The optical properties will be analyzed by fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopies. (AU)
