Balance study of the carbon cycle in the coastal region and its potential ocean transportation: with emphasis on the coast of Pernambuco (Carecos)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the carbon cycle considering the coastal region of Pernambuco, with some aspects in the Recife region and taking a reference point at eastern Atlantic Ocean (West basin), near Fernando de Noronha, an area protected from the anthropogenic influence. The emission of CO2 is observed with attention by the scientific community at IPCC, considering some scenarios and measures possible to mitigating the effects of gas increasing in the atmosphere. This study aimed to study the relation of dissolved gas and its biogeochemical cycle in a coastal system, observing some unbalances that reveal the anthropogenic influence. The academic and technician formation were included and also the approach with the community to support the environmental education activities. (AU)
