Abstract

Mapping QTL's and obtaining early soybean genotypes with high oil content in order crop reform sugar cane areas.SUMMARY:Due to recent expansion of the culture of sugarcane in Brazil, the rotation/succession system of cultures has become the focus of important studies. In this scenarium, species that produces grains has occupied a prominent role, especially leguminous species by offering a number of advantages such as: fixation of atmospheric nitrogen, small relationship carbon: nitrogen and large volume of organic waste to decompose. In this context, the soybean has great importance in sugarcane crops in the state of São Paulo, as an alternative for crop in areas of reform; however, it is necessary that the cultivar has a short cycle to the schedule that meets the culture of sugarcane, and good agronomic traits. Therefore, this proposal aims to continue the breeding program initiate through a research project recently completed by obtaining promising soybean genotypes for such system, through artificial crosses between parents with good agronomic traits with emphasis in the early, productivity, disease resistance, among others. In the current proposal, aims insert the character evaluation of oil, content in an attempt to add character to this promising strains obtained in the previous project as well as start a program for grain quality, with focus on high oil production, to crops that soybean may also be allocated to the production of Biodiesel. Inside this focus, intend to map QTL's for high oil content, of interest to populations who may be synthesized and utilized within strategies of marker-assisted selection, to assist the selection process for this character, conducted by the research group. Posteriorly the hybridizations in order to obtain new favorable combinations, the segregating populations will be conducted by the genealogical method modified, and, in the following steps will be adopted the experimental designs appropriate and required for the appropriate segregating generations evaluated, depending on the number of seeds available for installation of such tests. So, intend to get with this proposal new genotypic combinations, adding the characters above: early, high productivity, high oil content and good behavior adaptive to the sugar cane crops regions of São Paulo, providing possibility of launching commercial genotypes in the future, continuing to soybean breeding programs for the State of São Paulo, in public institutions.
