Abstract

The use of many wastes is already covered in legislation, such as treated sewage sludge. However, there are also few studies that evaluate the soil after the addition of the waste. In order to have security when the agronomic use of waste it is necessary to know the mechanisms of incorporation, mineralization and release of nutrients, ie, the dynamics of soil organic matter. This project will be used in agro-industrial residues orange bagasse and filter cake mixed with cattle manure. To evaluate the fertilizing properties of these wastes the stabilization soil-plant system will be studied. The growth of Ocimum basilicum L. will be accompanied on a sandy soil. There is mandatory to establish a regulatory standard for the specific climate and soil conditions of Brazil, aiming to ensure the use of organic waste is actually beneficial and environmentally safe, since the use of non stabilized organic wastes in soils with agricultural production can cause damage to the soil-plant-atmosphere. With the results obtained during the development of this project it is expected to provide subsidies to the laws of organic fertilizers, on the standardization of agricultural use of agro-industrial residues in soil conditions and climate of Brazil. In addition, to evaluate the influence of the vermicomposting in cultivated plant (Ocimum basilicum L.) on the growth, content of macro and micronutrients in plant tissue and production of essential oil, ie, studying soil-plant system after addition of the stabilized waste.
