Sexuality, gender and violence in old age policies

Abstract

Based on qualitative approach, the research project main idea is to analyze two webs of relations. On the one hand, issues related to violence against elderly people, particularly new public policies aiming at combating elder abuse and neglect, on the other hand, issues related to the debate on sexuality and old age, especially the dissemination of forms of consumption and lifestyle considered capable of ensuring a rewarding sexuality at later stages of aging. To this end it will be explored various types of textual, ethnographic and historical material related to the safeguard of the elderly as citizens and as consumers of specialized goods and services.
