Abstract

Language disorders affect about 5% to 10% of children in preschool. Because of the importance of the acquisition and development of language, both within the social and educational, children with language disorders have a tendency to show deficits in these areas. However, these problems can be avoided if the difficulties were addressed in a systemic way by professionals and family. The main purpose of this research is to develop, implement and test the effectiveness of an language intervention program to development of verbal communicative abilities in parents of children with language disorders. The secondary objective is to delineate the functional profile of communication (pragmatic profile) of parents of children with AL. Research participants will be 10 dyads of parents and children with language disorders, of both genders, from 3 to 6 years old, attending in FOB-USP. This research will develop in three phases, with phase 1 - survey of verbal communicative abilities in parents of children with language disorders (recordings of spontaneous interaction parents and children), as pre-trial intervention, phase 2 - planning and preparation of the intervention program and all material used (CD-ROMs, DVDs, videos in general, etc.) and phase 3 - implementation of the intervention program, with completion of a new survey of parents of verbal communicative abilities (post-intervention). In this program, there will be basically the use of theoretical and practical strategies, using theoretical materials (handouts) and practical activities, with audio-visual resources (DVDs, CD-ROM'S, videos) and strategies of video modeling, drama (role-playing). In the data analysis will be performed independent interobserver, with calculation of correlation and statistical analysis of data before and after intervention. (AU)
