Abstract

This investigation is based on the described ability of hsp65 to regulate autoimmune inflammatory diseases by inducing regulatory T cells. In this context, the major objective of this project is to evaluate the prophylactic and therapeutic effect of hsp65 on the clinical and immunological characteristics of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). For this, C57BL/6 female will be injected with 3 DNAhsp65 doses or with a mixture of DNAhsp65 and the recombinant hsp65, before (prophylaxis) or after (therapy) EAE induction. Analysis of weight, clinical score, inflammation at the central nervous system and myelin specific immune response will allow to characterize the protective ability of these procedures. (AU)
