Abstract

In recent years there has been an increase in indoor air quality study related to mechanical ventilation systems and air conditioning. This is especially crucial in hospitals where contaminated air transmission is considered a major cause of contracting disease for patients, health professionals and visitors. Moreover, these institutions for harboring different sectors, each one with a specificity and function, require different conditions of environmental comfort, in terms of hydrothermal, air quality, acoustic and luminous aspects. For this work, proposes a field investigation by measurements in hospital environments, in order to verify the air quality, through the level of CO2, and thermal comfort conditions associated with the system air conditioning use. Under these aspects, intends to contribute to the performance improvement study of these environments, ensuring adequate conditions for the occupants of the building, especially the patient, to control hospital infections, through the adequacy design, implementation, operation and maintenance conditions of air conditioning system present in these environments.
