Abstract

Collaboration and social interaction are remarkable characteristics of Web 2.0 applications. Collective intelligence emerges from the interactions between people. The attention to this concept is increasing in both academic and industry and involves the processing of data extracted from the interaction and collaboration on a large scale that happen on the Internet. To develop, prototype and test applications with these features involves many technical complexities and multidisciplinary issues. This project investigates how to support the development of collaborative Web 2.0 applications. A model and an infrastructure for the implementation of reusable components will be defined, the use of algorithms available in the literature for interaction data processing in order to support collective intelligence will be investigated, and an approach based on domain engineering and product line for instantiation of Web 2.0 collaborative applications will be defined. The results of this research will be applied in the Groupware Workbench platform and in the construction of 3 case studies, conducted with project partners. (AU)
