Abstract

Context: Limeira-SP is a city where operates one of the main production of jewelry, which is characterized by the use of informal labor at home, involving children and adolescents in the activities of assembling, welding and craving of pieces. Search at the city revealed that 27% of students in state schools works at welding and setting jewelry, 8,340 individuals, of which 20% of the students under the age of 17 years, involved in repetitive and hazardous tasks to health. The diagnosis of this situation led to the mobilization of public institutions and civil society in setting up an intersetorial network coordinated by the Municipal Commission for the Eradication of Child Labor in Limeira - COMETIL that has been running since 2007. The objective of this project is to evaluate the scope - limits and possibilities of intersetorial developed network by the period 2007 to 2010 in order to contribute to the formulation of public policies aimed to eradicate child labor. Methodology: Qualitative methodology will be employed through a case study with participation of researchers who are members of COMETIL by action - research method, combined with document analysis and semi structured interview with 19 individuals representing evolved segments. The results will be validated and discussed collectively by workshop programmed to the end of the study. It is expected to enhance and improve the scope of actions that have been committed in the form of intersetorial network. (AU)
