Study of the Cu-Al-Ag-Mn system


In this project, the characteristics of the quaternary system Cu-Al-Ag-Mn in the Cu-rich corner and in the beginning of the eutectoid transition field will be studied, in Cu-9wt.%Al alloys with additions of 3, 4 and 5 wt.%Ag and 4, 6 and 8 wt.%Mn. Phase transitions and phase characterization will be analyzed using optical (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), electrical resistivity measurements with temperature and microhardness changes measurements with temperature and time. The results will allow studying the Ag-Mn and Al-Mn interactions in the Cu-Al matrix and its influence on the properties of the Cu-Al-Ag-Mn system. (AU)
