Influence of different filling materials on the compressive strength of two light-curing resins used to seal the ducts of screw-retained implant restorations

Abstract

Implant-supported prostheses are an option of treatment inside implantology. However, it doesn t mean absence of problem in its use, such as fracture of composite resin that seals screw hole. Considering the importance of screw-retained implant restorations inside implantology, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the compressive strength of two light-curing resins (Z100 and P60) used to seal screw hole of implant-supported prostheses, changing the following filling materials: polytetrafluorethylene tape,absorvent cotton or gutta-percha. Initially metallic blocks will be confectioned in NiCr alloy contend, of centered form, the prosthetic component Ucla type, being later applied the feldspatic porcelain facing. After fulfilment and condensation of the quoted filling materials, the screw hole will be sealed with composite resin and submitted to the thermocycling. The compressive strength test of the composite resin will be made with help of an universal test machine and values will be analised by a statistic test. (AU)
