Abstract

The traceability system allows to monitor food in all steps of the production chain, from raw material to final product. It provides information on its origin and quality and helps consumers in the decision-make process, as well as growers to track down the process to identify quickly any mishap (recall). This system is an innovative mechanism used in food safety and security. This project aims to establish quality standards to develop seafood traceability focused on final consumers. This way, it can be identified the relation between the fish consumption and quality of life based on components provided by a volunteer university community. Results will be compiled with those from other research papers to build a database, which will enable the use a computerized traceability system to apply in seafood production, specifically Tilápia do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus). Results will also be useful to better understand problems related to acceptance and commercialization, as well as the relationship involving health, quality life and seafood consumption (AU)
