Evaluation and intervention in disorthography

Abstract

The aim of this project is to propose two studies: Study 1 is to elaborate a procedure of orthographic processing evaluation which aims to verify the level of knowledge and to establish the profile of orthographic acquisition of students from 1st to 5th grades. 300 students will participate in this study, being 150 students of municipal public school and 150 students of private school of Marília-SP, distributed between 1st and 5th grades, both genders, ranging from 6 to 10 years and 11 months. As procedure, the orthographic processing evaluation test will be elaborated and applied. Study 2 is to elaborate intervention programs focusing on dysorthography, the aim is to compare the performance of students with learning difficulties, developmental dyslexia and learning disabilities in the phases of orthographic processing evaluation in pre and post-testing, as well as to compare the performance of students with learning difficulties, developmental dyslexia and learning disabilities submitted and non-submitted to intervention programs. 60 students from 2nd to 4th grades of a municipal public school will participate, divided in 3 groups, being 20 students with developmental dyslexia, 20 students with learning disabilities and 20 students with learning difficulties, who will be submitted to an intervention program with dysorthography, composed by pretest, intervention and post-test. The results of study 1 and study 2 will be statistically analyzed. (AU)
