Abstract

The development of high throughput biomolecular techniques encompassing different aspects of cellular behavior is generating huge amounts of data. The challenge now is to develop new analysis techniques to extract relevant biological information from these data. In this project we will build, characterize and simulate integrated biological networks involving metabolism, protein-protein interaction and gene regulation. We will use different artificial intelligence and simulation techniques, such as: decision trees, molecular dynamics and bayesian networks, aiming to determine gene functions and essentiality and new targets for drugs.
