Generalizations and Applications of the Kuramoto model

Abstract

The Kuramoto model consists of a system of dynamic equations for coupled oscillators. Its most striking feature is the emergence of synchronization with increasing coupling constant, which makes this model one of the centerpiecesin mathematical modeling of phenomena involving synchronization, with applications ranging from neurology to ecology, including various areas of chemistry and physics. We intend to develop several generalizations of this model, making it more versatile and further expanding its range of applications. (AU)
