Proposal for follow-up for teachers at the beginning of career at the child daycare centres

Abstract

The research's object of study is the formation course "Teachers at the Beginning of Their Teaching Career: Pedagogical Work with Babies". It is a formation proposal that will be offered to teachers at the beginning of their careers in Nurseries I and Nurseries II (which are part of Stage I of Early Childhood Education) linked to the Municipal Education Secretary of Rio Claro (SME) during the period 2023- 2024. The general object of the research is to understand the formation processes that favor accompanying the teachers at the beginning of their careers and that offer subsidies to them so they can reflect on their pedagogical work in Nurseries. The research problem is: What conceptions and formation proposals can support policies' composition and/or accompanying programs for beginning teachers in their careers and enable a better insertion in the work environment and education networks together with Nurseries? The present formation proposal will unfold once that: a) I carry out intervention activities in the contemplated schools of the network searching to strength the dialogue between the teachers and their respective coordinating teachers, taking into account the uniqueness of each school and, b) I carry out monthly meetings with the coordinating teachers of the contemplated schools in search to deepen the articulation of pedagogical work in Nurseries. It is a narrative research of lived experiences (LIMA; GERALDI; GERALDI, 2015), from which I intend to bring into dialogue my experiences with teachers' experiences, since, being the coordinator of this group of professionals, I seek to understand what uncertainties and challenges these professionals experience daily and how the formation process experienced in the course is effectively a space of support for the participants. This research perspective is linked with a science conception supported by the Bakhtinian theoretical framework that proposes the collation of data as a form of interpretation (GERALDI, 2012). The data will be produced from: writings recorded in my logbook; individual and/or collective writings produced by teachers in the context of the course, individual writings that teachers may share in this formation space. In order to expand the theoretical discussion, I will carry out a bibliographic research (GIL, 2002) of theses and dissertations of the 2018-2022 period, having as criterion productions that refer to teachers at the beginning of their careers in Nurseries. With this survey, the objective is to map the existence of academic productions that problematize the accompanying practices of these teachers at the beginning of their careers and highlight specific issues linked to the pedagogical work of these teachers in Nurseries. The intention of this research is to contribute some principles that can support the definition of accompanying policies for beginning teachers in the context of nurseries in schools and teaching networks.
