Abstract

Connection between the content of human dignity and socially perceived necessities. Importance of using the consensual approach methodology to identify socially perceived necessities and to contribute to the concept and content of human dignity. Building the relationship between the multidimensional poverty measurement theory, developed by Prof. Peter Townsend and by Prof. Joanna Mack, with Fundamental Rights. The professors' theory indicates a methodology carried out in two phases, (i) focus groups and (ii) application of questionnaires to the population. These steps were carried out around the world and in some parts of Brazil. It's an opportunity to make the connection to the Law, which is developed in this proposed project. Through focus groups using the consensual approach, it is possible to identify, for a given society, the set of socially perceived necessities, part of human dignity. With the application of the questionnaire, the results of the focus groups are tested, impacting the content of human dignity and identifying the deprivations faced. The results present what is socially perceived as a necessity for a decent standard of living, in addition to indicating the level of deprivation found in the analyzed population. The methodology used is deductive from the jurisprudential and doctrinal survey, with a descriptive analysis method (when identifying the judgments and scientific texts) and explanatory (when performing a critical analysis on them), so the data collected by the research is compared carried out in Brazil and in other parts of the world on multidimensional poverty and its correlation with the content of the concept of human dignity.
