Abstract

Orofacial pain is one of the most fields of research, education and extension interests that has been increasingly affecting the population impairing the individual quality of life. Then, the study under interdisciplinary perspective is relevant to offer a person-centered care approach, offering strengthen benefits. Prof. Dr. David Gillam is one of the distinguished international researchers acting regarding dentin hypersensitive, a clinical event that notably affects the population, in particular the young individuals earlier. His visit will allow the interdisciplinary discipline in a post-graduation program, also including the participation of the external community and will be offered exclusively based in English. This activity will be relevant to the postgraduation in terms of internalization and interdisciplinary acting, with professors and researches from different specialties, besides the practical activities. In this opportunity, the Professor also integrate the program of the Annual Meeting of Brazilian Dental Research Society Annual Meeting (SBPqO) and of the Congress of Araçatuba School of Dentistry, São Paulo State University. Since the Clinical Research Centre of Bauru School of Dentistry develops researches on this field effectively with Prof. Dr. David Gillam since early 2000, international publications have been continuous with cooperation with professors from FOB and his recent internship experience of a doctorate student (FAPESP #2021/07513-0). His visit will be relevant in this moment to establish studies under multidisciplinary aspects to extend potential current management, considering mainly the integration with Queen Mary University of London, working with researches that including bioactive agents that can enhance at home/ professional clinical applications. As a co-founder and consultant of a company that develop bioactive product, it will allow sharing the innovation and cooperation with industry experience. Our team in particular will take the opportunity to debate results of developing projects, to define new projects and update of an international book chapter already published in 2015. The learning involving this discipline in the post-graduation will provide opportunities to extend the researches and consolidate the cooperation to the development of future projects. The details of the activities are presented in the attached files. Certainly, this visit will consolidate the preexistent productions and could extend this partnership with other researches from many Brazilian institutions. (AU)
