This project presents a proposal for the study and development of new advanced multiferroic materials as well as their modulation for application in logic and memory devices. Functional materials are considered the basis for the development of new technologies that intend to exceed the limits of energy efficiency and operating power currently known. Multiferroic ceramics, with their coupled optical, electrical, and magnetic properties, present advantages for the creation of new electronic devices, such as processors, memories, chemical sensors, actuators, photovoltaic cells, among others, and the investigation of their characteristics and phenomena related to fundamental physical operation becomes attractive for cutting-edge technological evolution. The development of new emerging materials, such as BiFeO3, happens through nanoengineering and, considering the aspects of the relationship between solid-state-chemistry and the control of characteristics of these structures, we seek to create systems with better energy efficiency and higher storage density of information per operation. Therefore, this project presents as a guiding objective the development of chemical control of multiferroic thin films (BiFeO3; LaBiFeO3) deposited by Magnetron-Sputtering using radiofrequency and HiPIMS modules, motivated by the influence of the modification of its chemical composition and the deposition technique on the variability of ferroelectric domain arrangements, aiming at the understanding and modulation of ferroic properties of condensed matter.
